OS Virtual Graduation
2020—gRRRad!
Art Direction and Motion Graphic
When the Coronavirus lockdown made an in-person graduation impossible, I worked with a small team to reimagine the ceremony as a fully virtual showcase, hosted live on a website and streamed via YouTube Live. Though students and faculty were confined to their own spaces, the goal was to make everyone feel part of one connected celebration.

The name "gRRRad!" came from a student logo design, selected through a competition run by the faculty. I was brought on to take that starting point and build it into a full identity, developing the art direction, motion graphics, UI/website design, social media assets, and event stationery.

"GRRR" is normally read as a growl of anger, but here it became a symbol of resolve, the graduates' determination to pursue their creative passions as they entered the industry. The three Rs — READY, RELIABLE, ROBUST were part of the concept given to me by the client, and I brought that concept to life through bold color, playful motion, and energetic transitions. This was one of my favorite early projects, the freedom to be expressive and energetic with the visuals made it a genuinely fun one to work on.
